I´m sitting here in my sofa back home with my leg in high position. This morning I had the surgery done which was really needed after my injury. I spoke with the doctor and he was happy with what he did with my knee and everything shall be perfect in some weeks.
Felt a bit unstable with pain in Aussie so I had to take it easy some days, I hate the feeling when I´m on the water...I just want to go all in ones I´m out there! Anyway, I´m happy with this trip and that I could make it!
We where in Gnaraloo most of the time, like 3 weeks out of four...man!...it´s in the middle of nowhere! But as we had a nice set up in our camp everything worked out fine. I´m not so used to this type of travels as I´ve been to South Africa every year since -99 :-) renting huge houses with pool, maid and sky high standard is a different thing...but I enjoyed it really much in a different way.
To be honest, the country looks pretty much the same as SA when you are out on the road looking around.
We filmed a lot and I will make a movie with all the clips soon. As we where late in the season for Gnaraloo it did´nt really worked 100%, but we had mostly headhigh waves and some days with logo ,even some masthigh sets came through so a bit of swimming as well :-)
Definitely I´m going back there but not in Nov, it will be in Sept or Okt next time for sure...less wind and bigger waves.
